The neckpiece is titled 'Eventide' – the archaic word for the end of the day.
It is created using the found ribcage bones of a Wallaby, Tasmanian Buttongrass Jade, and recycled sterling silver.
Through incorporating materials which would normally be discarded, such as bone, I wish to challenge the notion of what is ‘precious’ while resurrecting these materials to give them a new life and form.
Using a harmony of Tasmanian materials allows the wearer of this piece to connect with the land, and perhaps connect to an intuitive story or mythology of their own telling.
