EMILY ELIZA'S STORY

Emily Eliza Arlotte is a contemporary jeweller whose work weaves meaning, symbolism, and mindful craftsmanship into each piece.

Emily Eliza Arlotte

I am a jeweller and artist from Lutruwita / Tasmania. My work is shaped by curiosity, connection, and materials that hold both history and possibility.

My path to jewellery has been anything but linear. It unfolded slowly, shaped by persistence and the winding paths that creativity often takes. As a child I was drawn to oddities and curiosities - shells, bones, gemstones, and fragments of the natural world that seemed to hold their own quiet magic. That early fascination grew into a practice of making, nurtured through travel, short design courses, and later formal study. In jewellery I found a discipline that that suited me perfectly: a balance of patience and detail, and a way of weaving stories into material form.

My work is shaped by my eclectic interests that span nature, philosophy, the mystical, and the scientific, influences that bring depth, nuance, and a touch of magic to what I create. Guided by a philosophy of slow-making and mindful creation, my pieces emerge through conceptual exploration, symbolic design, and material experimentation.

I draw on precious metals and stones alongside unexpected elements such as bones or butterfly wings, always chosen with careful attention to provenance, ethics, and sustainability. Each piece is made with intention, shaped by hand, and designed to endure - not only as adornment, but as a talisman, a vessel for memory, meaning, and connection, something to be cherished across generations.

Over the years, I’ve shared my jewellery at craft markets, design fairs, and gallery exhibitions across Tasmania and beyond. I am proud to be a member of FIND Contemporary Jewellery Collective and to have a piece included in the MONA Museum Ladies Lounge exhibition. Today, my contemporary, ethically made jewellery can be found in galleries and boutiques, at festivals and markets, and here in my online store.
