ETHICS & SUSTAINABILITY

As a designer, maker and artist, my personal values are inseparable from the work I do. Every piece of jewellery I create is shaped not only by my hands but by the values I live by: care, connection, inclusiveness, transparency, thoughtful sourcing, and sustainable practices.

When you work with me, or choose one of my pieces, you can be assured that every step of my process is carefully considered. I am always learning, always improving, and always striving to honour the commitments I make to myself, my work, and to you.

Materials & Sourcing

The materials I choose are at the heart of my work. I work with responsibly sourced Australian metals, Australian gemstones, and heirloom materials. Recycling and reusing are an important part of my practice. Precious metals, gemstones, and special tokens that have already had a life can continue their story in a new form.

The provenance of materials is something I consider deeply. Each material carries a story - of place, of time, of people - and knowing that story brings honesty and meaning to the jewellery it becomes. Where provenance is clear, it deepens the connection between the piece and its wearer. Where it is less certain, I remain open and transparent about what can and cannot be known.

I make jewellery in small collections or to order, which means I avoid excess stock and unnecessary waste. Each piece is designed with longevity in mind, able to be repaired, resized, or even remade in the future, so that its materials can be cherished for generations.

Inclusivity & Care

I want everyone I work with to feel seen, safe, and welcome. Every person is important and unique, and I celebrate a world full of diversity. It is an honour to make jewellery for you, regardless of your ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, size, or cultural background.

Care and connection guide how I approach every piece and every interaction. From the way I design and describe jewellery, to the conversations we share, I aim to create a process where you feel respected, included, and truly heard.

Slow, Sustainable Making

Each piece of jewellery is handcrafted by me in my Moonah studio, created slowly and intentionally in small quantities. I work at a pace that values quality, care, and longevity, allowing each piece to be made with attention and thoughtfulness.

Sustainability guides not just what I use, but how I make. By designing jewellery that can be repaired, resized, or remade, I ensure that the work has a lasting life and materials are valued beyond a single use. Studio practices are shaped by responsibility, minimising waste, reusing where possible, and making choices that respect both the materials and the environment. Even the way your jewellery reaches you is considered: online orders are sent in compostable or recyclable packaging, chosen to minimise environmental impact while protecting the pieces during transit.

Making slowly and consciously allows me to create jewellery that is meaningful, enduring, and reflective of the connection between the wearer, the materials, and the world we inhabit.

Ongoing Responsibility

Sustainability is not a fixed point but an evolving practice. I continuously seek ways to lessen my environmental impact and ensure that my jewellery honours both the earth it comes from and the people connected to it. I commit to continually learning and improving.

Jewellery, for me, is more than adornment, it is a vessel for memory, meaning, and connection. Creating with integrity means honouring not just the finished piece, but the invisible networks of earth, labour, and time that make it possible.

Acknowledgement of Country

I live and work on the beautiful island of Lutruwita (Tasmania), the unceded lands of the Palawa/Pakana peoples.

With deep respect, I acknowledge the Palawa/Pakana peoples enduring culture, ancestral knowledge and deep connection to the land, waters, and skies.

I recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and commit to standing in solidarity, guided by their generosity and knowledge sharing.
